What a great decaf. I have struggled trying to find a great one and I love this one. Smooth, flavorful, good espresso but good brewer as well.

Was skeptical of this- "how can decaf coffee taste good?" Well, this one does! It's also very forgiving with the roast as I took it past second crack and it was still delicious!

Gosh this coffee is fantastic! I cut my caffeine with decaf 50/50 just because I am so sensitive to caffeine but coffee is my favorite thing in life (I am not joking). The flavor of this just on its own is better than any other coffee of any kind I have had. Once it's roasted and off gassed for a day or two the aroma is heavenly and flavor matches it. I go just past second crack I like very dark roast and this holds up to it beautifully. I am on my 4th order of it. Rich, bold and SMOOTH. Worth every penny.

If I could only have one decaf, this would probably be it. I’ve roasted almost 10lbs of this so far and it’s consistently yielded a great cup. It’s what you want from a decaf - full body, chocolate flavor and a really satisfying finish with no bitter aftertaste. I roast on a FreshRoast SR800 and take this one to Full City +, right to the start of second crack. Decaf is a wonderful experience that is typically underestimated. I continue to be impressed by the quality of these decaf varieties. For this to be Swiss Water process rather than mountain water and taste this good is amazing. Highly recommended 👏

First off, I love most coffee if I roast it. I have been roasting for about 2 years now, last 9 months or so decaf only. I agree with Mr. Snow that this needs to be medium dark to dark roast for best experience. But, I did try a nice blond roast, stopping just as first crack gets going and cooling quickly. This has made for a nice summer coffee that is more enjoyable in warmer weather. I tend to like the Peruvian decaf but hold this one on par with the best I have had. Also, fun easy roast.

First decaf coffee that I have liked. I recently had to switch due to PVCs. As someone that roasts my own coffee and searched for years to find my ideal farms to source from, this has been a hard and depressing transition, but I'm thankful for finding this. It is the first decaf that roasts up and tastes bomb in a latte. I will be ordering a LOT more!

I keep coming back to this as my favorite decaf. Roasting my own has permitted me to enjoy a good cup and my friends are consistently impressed with the flavor profile possible with this decaf. I drink 95% + espresso and this bean dose well in this scenario. I roast small amounts, about 9 minutes total roasting time, to about 5 seconds into second crack and then actively cool the batch. it does seem better after about 2 day of rest.

I bought the decaf sampler. I started with the Morning Glory. WOW is all I could say. This is better than some of the leaded beans I use. My wife has always disliked coffee, now I am roasting double batches. Great stuff.
SR540, 2m @ 9/9. 4 m @ 5/9 or until 400°, apprx 4 min @ 4/9 until start of rollling 2nd crack.

One of my favorites. I drink 1/2 decaf and 1/2 reg coffee during the morning, then decaf at night. This one blends well with regular coffees and by itself is really nice -never bitter even though I roast it until it is oily.

We are relatively new to roasting and this was a fantastic choice.
We roast 8oz on a cafe genie for about 13.5 minutes with a max temp of 449 from room temp for medium to dark roast. I find it strong and tasteful enough. When brewing with a pour-over we found ourselves using a lot of grounds. But we found our favorite method is using a GSI four-cup expresso maker. This is our favorite coffee for morning (sometimes blended) and especially evenings. As noted by other reviewers this does need to de-gas.

I am new to coffee roasting, generally drink 1//2 reg and 1/2 decaf. And I have always liked dark roasted coffee. This was really great. It had a really rich taste to it but was not bitter at all. I will be ordering more of this one!

I was looking for a Papua New Guinea decaf and decided to go with this bean. My decaf drinkers love it, and the regular drinkers state that it smells perfect.
Roasting went as other decade did with no issue. Aroma was wonderful.
Post grind fills the kitchen with lovely odors.
There was a gap between batches and I made them a folders pot. Not happy. Glad when the Indonesian was ready to grind.

My favorite decaf coffee. Definitely best at a dark roast. Rich full tasting coffee with hints of cocoa.

I love a full bodied coffee, and what really sold me on this coffee was the description of how smooth it was. I usually take the roast to right at second crack, and this makes for a beautiful roast. If I’m going to enjoy a dessert after supper, I will brew a couple of cups of the Bali Hai. This is a wonderful and versatile bean to roast. Get some and enjoy the flow of the baritone sax.

We love the Bali SWP coffee. Great flavor and body, a customer favorite. The best decaf coffee selection that we can find!

This is there best decaf, by my judgment, and I haven't even tried them all--yet.
I'd be surprised if there's a better one available.
Also, I didn't taste any earthy tones, which I equate to a dried grass smell/taste.

I tried roasting it in my 1400w airpopper. With no low setting available on the machine, the roast came out uneven, with some going well into the 2nd crack, while some still just at first crack. That being said, the taste is still quite good. I agree with others that waiting 48-72 hours produces the best flavor. I am new to Bali, especially decaf, and am favorably impressed. Just need to try in a different roaster next time.J

I’m always on look out for better decaf. I like the darker roast with this one similar to earthy caffeinated beans from same region.

Bali Hai is a delicious decaf coffee. My husband and I are new to roasting but we’ve found that it roasts to our liking just a few seconds into 2nd crack. It’s dark and nutty tasting but also smooth as if it has cream in it already. Delightful and favorite bean so far!

I am not new to roasting, I’ve been buying coffee from CBC for 15+ years sooo much fun trying and testing coffees from all over the world. My wife likes to limit her caffeine intake so we tried the Bali SWP WOW! I hate to say it but it blows away a lot of my favorite beans away! I host coffee parties all the time and of course my caffeinated coffee goes the quickest, when I run out I’ll sneak in and pour the decaf craft into the caffeinated craft so I don’t have to pour out what is left, I get remarks like “saving the best for last?” I just smile and say “you caught me!”
