Bought this trying to match starbucks casi cielo and it worked! This had the perfect taste and I had the satisfaction of trying it as a dark roast as well. If you like the once a year release of casi cielo then I highly recommend this!

Roasted a 1/2lb using Behmor 200AB set on program P2. Total roast time was just over 16 min just into 2nd crack. Very balanced and smooth, rich with subtle dark chocolate, mocha notes. This has become my new favorite!

Roasted a 6oz batch between 1st and 2nd crack, rested for 2 days and 6 days. The flavors develop with resting. The bean quality is very good. The cupping notes are exactly as described by CBC. Another excellent selection. The mouthfeel is full and smooth. It has the body to hold up to some milk. I anticipate it will make great cold brew and espresso,

My wife and I love this coffee. I roast it into 2nd crack in my Behmor. Let me be honest, I don't have a great nose for wine or coffee but my wife does. We don't discuss "notes" but I will tell you that she says the aromas from this coffee during the first few minutes of brewing are out of this world. Of all the coffees I've roasted this one really tickles her fancy. This is tied with our other favorite, CR Tres Rios La Magnolia. Way to go CBC.

Love this Antiqua! Haven't had it in a long time. I've experimented roasting between City and Full City. Full body, some mocha, aroma, a well rounded bean for espresso.

Absolutely fantastic! Clean taste & well balanced from 1st sip to last. No acidic bite. No aftertaste. No cream or sugar. No blending required or desired. This is a great stand alone single origin coffee at medium roast with SR800 air roaster. Will buy again!
This Costa Rica along with Guatemala La Flor del Antigua are my go-to coffees going forward. Both 5-Stars.

I can’t remember if I reviewed this yet…So hopefully this won’t be a duplicate. Anyway, so far from this site I have tried Ethiopian, Bolivian, Brazilian, Costa Rican, Colombian, and Mexican beans, and these are the best. I roast it to just the start of 2nd crack, with just a few beans getting a touch of oil starting to form. The aroma is so good. Like a classic coffee, and the flavor is chocolatey toasted nuts. The best coffee I have ever had. You need to try this. Not a whole lot of reviews on this one, but don’t let that keep you away from this bean. I’m serious.

From this site I have tried Colombian, Costa Rican, Ethiopian, Mexican, and Brazilian beans, and so far this Guatemalan bean is the best. Something special about it that I can’t completely describe. The aroma is amazing, and the mouthfeel is full. It’s definitely chocolatey and nutty. Absolutely delicious. Just ordered 5 more pounds.

I just can't quit this stuff. I've been roasting La Flor del Cafe on/off for ~14 years. With a medium roast (stop at the beginning of the 2nd crack), it's incredibly smooth with a symphony of fruity/floral notes, but not nearly as acidic or bitter as other coffees. Plays equally well in a french press, espresso, or cold brew. I've taken it past 2nd crack (well into oily bean territory) & it was still really good, but the complexity was slightly muted & the bitterness more pronounced. This stuff really shines with a light-medium roast.
I love Kona when I can afford it & even managed to score some Jamaican Blue Mountain during the 3 seconds CBC had it in stock years ago (it was amazing too), some honey-process Mexican & Honduran varieties are great, & I've even dabbled in Indonesian & Ethiopian varieties, but I just keep coming back to La Flor del Cafe - not just for the taste but for the price too.

This is a great coffee I roasted one batch to just after first crack and a second to just after second crack I found that both are very good. I took some to my church and let them sample and they all loved both roast. This is one that we will definitely be putting on our menu of beans.

I love this new coffee in my repertoire. It is very smooth in the mouth. It reminds me of a Costa Rica coffee. Delicious at a medium roast.

Another great coffee. And again, reviews very helpful for both flavor profiles and roasting preferences. SR 800 with an extension tube to just the 1st sound of second crack. About 8 1/2 minutes, 470° on the readout, and hit Cool. Ended up right around Full City. Wonderful aromas following grinding, filling the house. Even better aromas during brewing. Definitely to the chocolate side of the flavor spectrum. Rich, smooth, and delicious. Highly recommend.

This is a great bean for espresso and cappuccino. Roasted to 30 seconds after second crack and wait 24 hours before using and you will get a great cup of espresso. Not bitter, excellent chocolate flavor with a smooth taste.

This is one of my favorite beans. Purchased several times before and will purchase again to keep in my stock. Usually roast into second crack and it does not disappoint. It will take the heat and a dark roast. I love this coffee.

Roasted on my SR800 just in to second Crack, ended up being about 470 F. This bean is the best bean I've purchased for the price. The Kona and JBM are awesome but for the price, give me a cup of this any day! The balance is so good and the flavor is outstanding. I will be buying this over and over again.

I've been slow roasting for 10 minutes to well into 2nd crack. I punch cool-down the instant I see the least hint of an oily edge. Taking a hint from another reviewer, I'll try blending with a batch stopped at the beginning of 2nd crack, to get a broader taste profile. Originally I'd settled for this in lieu of Huehuetenango Aguacatones Honey but now think this is by no means in second place.

This is one of my favorites. I used to go for a light roast, but I have discovered I like it best somewhere between Full City and Full City+. Roasting into 2nd crack long enough to get a light coating of oil emerging from SOME of the beans (but not that many) yields a sweet, flavorful roast in my opinion. Combining that roast with another just to the verge of or the very beginning of second crack yields a full bodied, flavorful cup that I find irresistible.

Roasted just past first crack, this one was okay. For us this was sort of a middle of the road, not bad, not spectacular. Might be better with darker roasts but we're not much on the darks.

Of all the coffee we've tried so far this was really good, some chocolate hints we enjoyed. We always roast just past first crack, the only issue we had was the chaff is really hard to separate from the bean with this one. On a scale of 1-10, we gave this one a solid 8.

Great stuff. Got it soon after I placed the order. Roasted up a quick half-pound batch in the Behmor (just the the start of the 2nd crack), let it cool a few minutes and brewed up a couple of pour overs to give it a test
Rich cocoa notes and nutty notes. Perfect!

I roasted this up to just before 2nd crack. Nice dark color. The aroma of this coffee is so good... as is the flavor. Chocolaty, but light... not bitter but smooth. Outstanding coffee.

Ive boughten dark roast Guatemalan beans from Trader Joes for along time, until I switched over to an El Salvador peaberry as my go to. When my source for for the ES Peaberry went out of business thats when I took to roasting my own. Since then I've experiment beans from various parts of the globe and remembering the Guatemalan from the past I roasted up this Antigua and its lucious. Heed the warning not go to "the dark side" or you'll be cheated out of the tapestry of flavor. It's like buttered crossiant with great aroma and fine balance, close your eyes you might envision a chocolate pomegranate martini at the end. In a recent roast i added two ounces of whole raw hazelnuts to eight ounces of coffee beans and roasted them together it was a decent experiment muted nutty flavor infused - but this coffee should allow its own flag to fly. Although Yemen coffees have now captured my heart, this Guatemalan Antigua is sophisticated in its own way. You would not be disappointed.

This is hands down, the best coffee you offer! It isn’t the least bit bitter, and as it cools there is a lovely chocolate flavor. I’ve missed having this coffee and am so glad that you have it again! When I heard, I immediate ordered several pounds, and will definitely do so again!
