Pretty good. That’s not meant to be damnation by faint praise — la Amistad is dependable and predictable, but not adventurous. How about this: If you were going to buy green beans as a gift for a roasting novice, la Amistad is a safe bet.

The coffee has a good flavor profile at just past past first crack. My biggest complaint is a high quality coffee at this price point shouldn’t have a lot of small, broken and mishaps beans. I had to hand sort and discard nearly 10% of the beans because the were not fully roasted.
Poor sorting and some one doesn’t expect at $8.00 per lb. I doubt I would buy this again as the La Minita is much better for just a bit more $

Not great but drinkable. I have tried four roasts ranging from light medium to medium-dark and was unable to reveal any flavor. I have been spoiled by Kona beans and I measure all beans against the Kona bean, perhaps I am not being fair but I have tried different roasts without favorable results. I guess you get what you pay for, the price for the Costa Rica beans was only about $7.00 per pound and is reflected by its flavor.
