Very good coffee!! I roasted past FC and it turned out great. My first sip were strawberry notes. I knew that I hit the right roast when I finished the cup. There are some dead beans in the bunch, but not many. I would highly recommend it and will be buying more if it is available.

Quite different flavor profile from the Indonesian Bali Hai Decaf that was purchased at the same time. Roasted to a City++ roast as we prefer a dark roast but did not want to kill the profile by over-roasting. My taste "pallet" is not the most sensitive to all the subtleties of a complex coffee, but my wife and I both would purchase this again.

I went with a light sample roast to see what the bean has to offer and was very impressed. Usually the coffee flavor descriptors are seemingly random, but this one actually does have the blueberry note so beloved by Ethiopian natural fans. I’m excited to continue developing my roast for this coffee and see how it tastes at medium roast levels. Definitely give it a shot!

When I roasted this coffee medium it had a pleasant lemony sweetness that I enjoyed. Medium dark roast to me had a chocolaty flavor which I also enjoyed. I would buy this coffee again.

This is the kind of coffee that made me fall in love with dry processed beans. Many years since I've had a natural this good. Very few defects, lots of beautiful fruit notes and not a lot of funk. GREAT coffee!

Another excellent offering from CBC. The green coffee bean is small and has a clean grassy nose. The beans were clean, no damage. Roasted between 1st and 2nd crack. The roasted beans smells like chocolate covered strawberries and blueberries. I am a fan of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe and Ethiopia Misty Valley Yirgacheffe Natural exceeds all my expectations.
Also makes a excellent blend 1:1 with Colombia Don Enrique Reserve.

This is a great Ethiopian coffee, that I enjoy with a light roast in an espresso. The taste seems to remind one of chocolate a bit, with a very slightly sweet aftertaste. Highly recommended.

I'm a fan of natural/dry process coffee, so this is a hit with me. Still trying to figure out exactly the best roast profile, but everyone should have a Yirgacheefe to compare with other City roast favorites. I prefer the Ethiopian Sidamo region coffees (Got spoiled by Hamasho Village single source ... can't find that now), but that's the only reason for less than 5 stars. It might turn out to be YOUR favorite. Has moderate fruity acid bite when served very hot, but smooths out as it cools in the cup.

One of the best tasting coffees I've roasted at any price. The only complaint is that the second crack is hard to discern. I roast 30 second into the second crack. The extra attention required is more than worth the effort.

My favorite Ethiopian so far. The fruit flavors (mostly blueberry) hold on a lot longer into the roast than other Ethiopians I have done. I roasted this one about 30 seconds past rolling FC for a nice medium and the blueberries held strong. Even in a blend with 25% Misty and 75% darker roast Brazil for body the blueberries were still very dominant in the cup. Definitely will be ordering more.

After roasting 4 coffee samples so far and not finding one I would call a keeper I landed on Ethiopia Misty Valley. With my trusty SR500, I roasted it to end of FC (City) with heat at medium after FC started. Delicious coffee in pour over using 0.8 oz of grounds between med and fine grind (like sand). So smooth, floral notes, light sweetness and balanced, medium boldness. This is less than 24 hrs after roast. Very Impressed.

Misty Valley is one of my all time favorite coffees to roast. It is beautifully prepped, and roasts more evenly than many Ethiopian coffees.
The flavor notes vary from year to year. This year's iteration gives me the welcome blueberry like essences, and as days go by a nice light cocoa...as roasted in my Fresh Roast SR800 I purchased here. I recommend a light medium, but of course as they say, YMMV. Delicious!

Yirgscheffe coffees are a favorite of mine. And it seems over the years, a lot of other people's favorite. A great drinker, a fairly mellow body. I like to take it to a darker roast, FC+. Seems at this roast is at its smoothest, and most chocolate enhanced. Some sweeter, dark red fruit essences.

After testing many coffees over the years, we settled on Ethiopia Misty Valley Yirgacheffe Natural. Our preference is a very light roast work a genie, switching to cooling mode at first pop.
It makes for a really enjoyable morning starter as an espresso for me and a macchiato for my wife.
The only downside to this coffee is that you may want to drink too much.

This is my go-to coffee bean. It jhas very intense flavor but also very smooth. Great for both pour over as well as cold brew. I've tried several other yirgacheffes, but this one is far superior to the others. I take it to just at second crack for a nice dark roast.

This Ethiopia Yirgacheffe has been one of our staple beans since we started our business a year ago. We roast it dark to caramelize the sugars and the result is a wonderful dark chocolate, full body, coffee that's intense without being bitter. We also roast this bean light for a collaboration with an ice cream company, and medium for a collaboration with a local brewery.

I'm not a fan of "fruity" flavors in coffee and favor darkly roasted beans for pour-over brewing (Chemex), so Ethiopian has never been on my radar. But Ethiopian was suggested by a barista for espresso, that it's the only kind she uses in her shop. And she certainly makes an excellent cappuccino! Misty Valley makes a delicious espresso, better than two others varieties I tried, but not something for drip or pour-over.

Got this in the Ethiopia sampler pack, so I only had a half pound to work with, and therefore didn't have the opportunity to properly dial in the roast profile. As a city roast, it has a medium body with a citric acidity and a hint of berries and chocolate. At FC and FC+ it lost pretty much all of the citrus and was very chocolate forward with hints of dried berries (strawberries?) with a huge syrupy body. None of my roasts really "wowed" me, but were still drinkable, and could probably benefit from more tinkering.

February 22, 2021
This is a good quality Yirgacheffe. The beans were a good size and uniform for an Ethiopian, so they roasted evenly, which I really liked. I roasted to a medium roast. I was hoping that it would be more fruity since it's a natural processed coffee but that wasn't the case with my small sample batch. If you are looking for more fruit flavor, I recommend the Ethiopia Organic Sidamo Shantawene Natural G1 instead.

This coffee is a bit finicky to roast. However, if you get it just right, you are rewarded by a fruit forward (blueberry) coffee with chocolate base. Works well as espresso and holds up in milk. I have achieved this in a popcorn popper once or twice (don’t know how) and in my hottop more consistently by dropping in at around 150C and removing just at the end of first crack. However, get the roast wrong and it can be blah or downright musty.

I was intrigued by this coffee's description,so I order 3 lbs. After roasting it to the 2nd Crack, I got a wonderful cup of fragrant nice body coffee. Others in my household who like their coffee with cream and sugar actually like this coffee black.
I only gave it 4 stars because it is a great experience, however not my everyday coffee though I may order it again.

I am a newbie when it comes to roasting my own coffee, and a friend of mine pointed me to Coffee Bean Corral. I don't know how to 'properly' describe it, so I'll just country-boy it... I like a light roast so I simply looked through the descriptions and found this bean. LOVE it! roasted 250g at 220c for 11 minutes...waited a couple days...and then it was like heaven in my cup. I know that everyone's tastes are different, but I highly recommend you give this bean a try if you like a light roast.

I roasted this in a Genecafe at 428. Total time roasting was 16 1/2 minutes and then cooling time.
It was a delicious aroma right out of the ginger. Very fruity and floral. The cup was a delightful fruit forward cup and the berries were very evident. I love it best when a Yirgacheff is like that.

This is definitely some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. Been roasting for over a year now. I typically roast a coffee supreme and just finished a 25 pound bag of that so decided to try something new. Bought a lot of samples from this company and I have to say all of them were great. I went with a few of the CBC blends as well as Costa Rican blends and a few from India and Mexico. Haven’t tried them all but this one is deff my favorite so far. Decided to try this blend mainly after seeing an episode on Joe Rogans podcast that mentioned Ethiopia as the origin of coffee. Totally makes sense now. This is like the OG kush of coffee !

This coffee exceeded my expectations. It is very aromatic, bright and sweet, I can add that it is chocolaty and fruity as well. All the attributes assigned to it in the coffee bean matrix are entirely valid. My preference is medium roast, preferably on the light side. There is just one other coffee bean from Nicaragua that I would rate as highly as this one.

I tend to roast right to second crack. (The rest of my household doesn’t enjoy light roasts.) So I tend to look for brands that retain as much of their fruity or nutty notes up to SC. This coffee is quite good, but I think it lost those fruity notes mentioned in the description when roasted darker. Still, it’s quite good and I think if not roasted past a medium level, it will likely retain much more of those flavor notes. So I’m giving it a 4.

I started roasting coffee a few days ago. I bought one of those Barwell coffee roasters, the updated version, and I couldn't be happier. This is an exceptionally clean full natural. It is balanced and has great floral and fruit profile as described along with a very nice body. I am not a fan of naturals as I prefer a clean cup but I am buying an extra 5 lbs of this as it's a keeper that I want to share with friends via USPS. I have brewed it in V60 and it was awesome. This is my favorite offering from Coffee Bean Corral so far. I'm a coffee snob, but I'm not a coffee expert. I know what I like, and I like Ethiopian beans, and from Kenya, and the natural processing because it leaves a residual Bourbon like flavor that I can't get enough of. They say to roast these light, but I think much more flavor come through when roasted to second crack.
The friendly small-shop service is the best I've experienced, making me a loyal customer.

This Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Misty Valley is one of my two favorite beans and has become one of our anchor roasts that our customers love. We roast it dark, just past 2nd crack to get the oils to surface. This results is a full body, robust, cup, with a nice dark chocolate base with a slight berry/citrus finish. We've roasted and sold over 150 pounds of this bean and don't have any plans to stop using it!

Well, this just became my go-to coffee! I’ve tried other Ethiopian coffees recently that were absolutely fantastic - the Shantawene Sidamo and the Kayon Mtn Guji G1 - both of them made me want to try this one, and now I know why it’s so world-renowned. In my opinion, it makes the perfect cup of coffee. Checks all the boxes, so to speak. Before this, my go-to was Señora Fihor’s masterpiece, the Honduras 18-Rabbit Natural. That has now become my #2 thanks to this amazing coffee.

First origin I've tried based off altitude, I was not disappointed! I roasted my beans on my cast iron a bit after the second crack while constantly whisking. This coffee is everything I like about Ethiopian Yirgacheffe in an easy-to-roast bean. I have had some problems roasting other Ethiopians in my little Nesco, but this works great roasting for about 16 minutes. Full flavor, great color, and still just the right acidity. This morning I had what might be the best cup of coffee that I have ever had from this. Really.

Beans are larger than average natural Yirgacheffe Looks very uniform, Very much grade 1. Easy to roast. Roast is predictable. 30 seconds into fast 1 st crack. 72 hours wait for espresso. Darker roast is better for french press and can be used in 24 hours. Darker roast though looses fruits.
I admire people who tell that they feel mentioning all those fruits. I do coffee on near professional level over 20 years and I think they are just repeat the description of the seller.
Misty Valley makes very pleasant near exotic espresso and cappuccino. Typical Yirgacheffe. Probably easy can give 93-94 points

BLUEBERRY ..... medium roast 450 deg rolling basket air fryer 35 minutes - 24 to 48 hour rest .... fine grind... 4 minute french press - blueberry.. not syrup sugar blueberry... but a light natural essence or as one other reviewer said .. muffin tone. You can smell it in the aroma too. Not everybody tastes it the first time, not all roast batches are strong... but when you get a strong batch... WOW... the lingering coffee flavor is like bakers chocolate which could be earthy to some. It seems the roast needs 24 to 48 hours to really come out. Being a medium roast .. and lighter roasting is good too.. its going to zing you out... nice caffeine punch, be ready for that. Now when I order coffee at Denny's .. I only do so to warm my hands.

Misty Valley was the first coffee I ever roasted (2014 or so), and it's my gold standard. My favorite roast is on the lighter side to preserve the strong blueberry accents, but I love it anyway if I miss the mark a little bit. I'm still trying a few different approaches out, but using my FreshRoast 500 I've had good results roasting on High for 4 minutes, switching to medium for 45 seconds, then cooling. If I leave it on high after 4 minutes it seems to progress really quickly through medium into dark.

These Yirgacheffe beans were quite a surprise as it was the first time I had roasted them. They roasted to a beautiful dark level with some oily-ness on the surface. I expected they’d be too strong and bitter but found it not to be the case. The results were a dark but bright brew (does that make sense?) with smooth body, and a slight bitterness (maybe the cocoa flavor?). Also some berry sweetness. Found it very pleasant and easy to drink.

This coffee is very good, make no mistake about that. The flavors aren’t quite as strong as I am used to but that could be because the bag came with a nice, big hole in it so I’m sure the beans got plenty of oxygen to make them slightly stale.

Part of the sample pack and I used it to learn more about my Hottop K2+ . Roasted it to Full City to see what it do as a dark roast. (Dropped it at 11:24/399F). Let it sit for 3 days. It came out with great body and a unsweetened cocoa aftertaste (very pleasant). Of all the Ethiopia coffees that I have tried from CBC and their competitors, this is the one I like the best. . Based on the other reviews, I will try to do this at a lighter roast level and see where that takes me. I will buy more to share with family & friends.
Cheers!
