So far I have only roasted these beans slowly to just hitting 2nd pop (I'm 2/3rds they way through a 5 lb. bag). The flavor is so exceptional I hate to experiment with roasting. They have the non-acid, chocolate velvet taste that lingers just a bit after you taste it. Great not only for breakfast but also an evening cup (for that matter all day long). I will be daring the next roast this afternoon and try it a little lighter. Will be ordering this one often.

As a new roaster, this bean is a great choice. It handles well in the roaster, bean size is consistent, and tastes super. Only taken this bean to a medium roast removing right after first crack. In search of a foundation of beans to offer my customers, I believe this region and varietal will be a staple. I have been happy with the fast delivery of the beans, it has helped a small roaster like me get what I need done. Very pleased from packaging to bean quality.

Roasted to just passed 2nd crack. Taste is even, non-acidic and creamy. We tend to brew our coffee “Cowboy” style which really brings out the rich flavors. As for Coffee Bean Corral, I’d give then 11 Stars if I could! Imagine this: My phone rings and it’s Coffee Bean Corral calling me to let me know my 10lb bag of beans might be a day or two late. I thought it was a joke! I am just SOOOO impressed by this company’s level of customer service that I have told this story to everyone we share our coffee with. We own a business and usually offer customers a cup of coffee. People are amazed at the taste of our coffee and seem overwhelmed when we explain that we roast our own beans. I very much appreciate the high level of customer service, the great product choices, and the nice burlap bag my coffee came packed in. Customer for life here!

Rather new to roasting but ordered all the sample packs from CBC and have tried at least a few roasts from each growing area. GREAT way to go "Around the world in eighty roasts". Hands down this is one of my favorites. This will be my daily brew...smooth and drinkable. Love it.

*edit* I would like to walk back my previous review. I apologize for giving it a 3 star review the first time this is a 5 star coffee for sure. It was absolutely my fault the coffee did not taste great the first couple times I roasted it. I tweaked the roast profile a bit and it changed everything 🤦🏻‍♂️. I have found this bean likes a low and slow approach to really bring out those flavors. Sorry cbc you guys rock!

This provides an excellent cup of coffee.

Another great bean from Costa Rica. Nice fruity taste and smooth creamy, rich body. Swish it in your mouth and the flavor comes alive. Went with a full medium and will try a regular medium next. Just received 3 more pounds. Thanks CBC.

WOW, our first time at roasting coffee and we wish we had done it sooner. Went all out and bought 50# to store away after we learned coffee held up better prior to roasting. We had no experience on roasting and did our first batch in a cast iron skillet (no idea they would smoke so much) but was afraid we had burned them, but the next day hubs ground the small batch to espresso grind, and I was blown away with the taste and I am a novice coffee drinker. Hubs made a couple Cubanos this morning with the same batch and said it was FANTASTIC. Already recommended this company to a friend. Costa Rica La Magnolia Tres Rios, love!

Makes a perfect cup of coffee. We roast at 453 degrees for 12.5 minutes.

Really like this coffee. The earthy-ness is great but not overpowering. This coffee is not a fruit bomb but (I believe) is a really balanced coffee. I roast it just into the second crack and get a very consistent roast throughout the batch. I also want to give the people at the Corral a shout out for really great, prompt, customer service.

I decided to try this coffee after a friend recommended it. All I can say is WOW! Very smooth, rich but not overpowering taste. Nice finish! This is my new favorite! Roasted it with a Behmor AB to the first hint of 2nd crack. Will be buying this in larger quantities now!

Rich and full of flavor

This is a very good bean. Roasting was very consistent from each batch I roasted. I roasted to medium and it was a little light after 2nd crack about 7mins in a popper roaster. I went to 10 and I liked much more. It has like other have said a even at 7 mins a good mouth feel, and depth of flavor. I would recommend trying this one and roasted to medium dark city roast. I will buy more of this one.

Wow such a wonderful cup to enjoy on a warm Texas spring morning! Roasted on Hottop 2K+, until 2nd crack (was experimenting with cold brew). Beautiful, fruity aroma. Thoroughly enjoyed as pour over, with its smooth finish yet bold flavor...it was a bit too light for my liking as a cold brew (16hr steep). Definitely try it out for the price point! Great single origin roast!

I roasted this bean to middle of 2nd crack. I only gassed it for 24 hours before cupping it. Using a Behmor, it offered a rich and extremely flavorful cup of coffee. In fact, of all beans I have tried so far, this is my favorite. The reviews I read before purchasing this bean were very instrumental to my decision to buy.

I’m a Kona coffee drinker, but I don’t like Kona coffee prices. This coffee is exquisite! If you love a smooth, rich coffee with a full, robust flavor, no bite, and just a touch of natural sweetness (Hmmm . . . sounds a lot like Kona), then this just might be the coffee for you.

I love this coffee! My palate is not sophisticated enough to tell you why, but I am on my second batch....10lbs this time! The only issue I have is that using my Behmor 1600 plus (which I love) I can't hear first crack. Does anyone else have this issue? Coffee comes out good when I use 3/4 lbs and roast on the 1lb setting. Would appreciate any suggestions using Behmor if you have them.

This is a full bodied coffee with nicely balanced chocolate/nutty/stone fruit notes, all at a barely City roast level (dropped at around 400F using my 600g gas drum roaster). For a high density bean it roasts pretty easily, no contortions trying to avoid an ROR crash. My first CBC try. I'll definitely be back.
