Found this batch to be too varied in color of beans raw as well as roasted. There were pale yellow to white beans in raw form. After roasting the output is all over the roasted range and not uniform at all. Some are City+ others in the same batch don't hit first crack.

I’ve been a CBC customer for a couple of years now, trying out a number of their offerings. The bean I liked best early on is no longer available. I recently decided to try some of their own blends - actually all of them now - and have found this one the one I go back to most often. I have roasted it light, medium, and dark, brewed it French Press and drip, served it hot and cold. Overall it is the most consistently good cup of all the other beans I have so far tried; even I don’t seem able to screw it up. I like it best roasted medium, AeroPress brewed, served hot: my now “every morning” cup.

I don't know what happened. I thought I ordered 2-5lb. bags in an attempt to avoid the absolutely horriid and detestable burlap, and somehow I ended up with a single 10, in an extremely hairy and lint laden molting sack. I don't know if it was my fault in the ordering process or if the order was consolidated due to being the same bean... Either way my product is contaminated with foreign particulate, and hairs. Maybe it's not a big deal for some, but its hard to see, pick out, flammable, and not a part of any flavor profile, I wish to consume. 4 stars for the blend itself. Everyone in my family are strictly dark roast drip coffee people, and this blend is my family's favorite, though I recommend at least a week of post-roast aging for anything darker than a Vienna roast, to let the aroma and such bounce back after the brutal temperature treatment. I personally prefer a middle of first crack floral Ethiopian, but living one's life is not just one's own affair. So, I tend to drink whatever my family prefers. 5 stars on the shipping. It was right on time. 1 star for the packaging that has left my sweater, table, counter, floor, and beans covered in... burlap molt.

While you say this is an espresso coffee, I did pour through and we really love it!
It is chocolatey without being overpowering. Roasted as a dark roast, it is just perfect.
I will be ordering again!

I realize they want to keep the blend a secret but it's too bad they won't tell us at least the regions they blended together. Just for my education I'd like to know what the whitish beans are. My wife and friends that I've roasted these for, really enjoy the taste they get from their espresso machines and pour-overs. I like the taste but it can make me jumpy/over-caffeinated.

My grandchildren and I have set up a small ( very small ) coffee business. We are providing freshly roasted coffee to our customers ( mainly family :) ). This has become our go to bean. The coffee drinkers love this roast! We do a darker roast and a lighter roast for specific preferences and both are great! LOVE CBC for their great product and amazing customer service.

My guess is that there is a LOT of robusta beans in here. If like to find out. It definitely has GREAT crema, and the pull is beautiful. It was roasted to FC+ over 18 min.
I'll hold off on giving my opinion on flavor, though first blush says I'm not impressed with its level of chocolate for a blend that speaks of chocolates.
Lastly, the bean content was visually curious, with beans that appeared to be substandard.

roasted to FC/FC+. nice blend! tons of body and complexity. well rounded espresso shot, with a balance of chocolate, nuts, and fruits. it really opens up with milk though. wow! turns into a chocolate bomb.

I usually don't write the reviews. But I had to for this blend. I have tried over 25 different coffees. But Colombian coffee has been my go to for my Mocha/Cappuccino in the morning.
If you are like me who drinks Mocha/Cappuccino everyday, then this blend is a must. I had enough complexity and depth that still through the milk.
I use Behmor 1600+. Took it up to the point when second crack started. Immediately took it out and let it cool down outside.

I am not a coffee connoisseur. Even though I use the model of Hottop roaster that can be connected to a computer and enable one to alter the fan speed, temperature, length of roast, etc., I just use the built-in roast profile. The beans get roasted to the beginning of second crack and are dumped at 402°. They are dark, but not oily. They then get ground in a Mazzer Mini grinder and I pull the shot with an Olympia Cremina bought when it still cost about $350, not its current ridiculous price of $3600.
I make two cappuccinos for myself and my wife every morning. I rarely make an espresso. This blend makes a tasty cappuccino. I intend to stay with it.

Wow, this is a great blend.
I roast on a stovetop with a whirlypop and it always takes a bit of experimentation to figure out the right heat levels for a new bean.
My first roast with this coffee was very underwhelming given the high rating but the reviews were so good I was determined to give it at least one more go.
I am so glad that I did, this blend is amazing, and now I'm inspired to experiment more to see what else I can do with this blend.
I'm actually using this as pour over coffee as I don't particularly enjoy espresso, it's still outstanding and is delicious (as the latte descriptor suggests) with a little cream mixed in.
The results are wonderfully smooth, chocolaty and delicious with just a hit of dark chocolate bitterness hidden in the aftertaste. Amazing. This blend is definitely on my "buy again" list.

This is our go to blend for Lattes in our super automatic Jura machine. Roasted with our Sonofresco roaster. Retail espresso stands can't deliver what this blend gives us. Chocolate and nutty. Please continue to offer this.

I have a Gene Cafe and need help on roasting this blend. I roasted at 482 to full city (19 min) and it was oily and looked like carbon. Any suggestions from other roasters?
