Description

Our Kope Kapuna combination was a 2007 Holiday hit. So rather than keeping the secret limited edition, we decided to make it permanent in our offerings. Russ concocted this bean combo with plenty of Hawaiian flair and nostalgia.

In keeping with the season's pleasures, the Kope Kapuna blend is chocolatey, fruity, and spicy. It’s perfect for a chilly holiday morning––and now, every morning!

Year-round, this is our special offering to you. Add your roasting results and tips to the product reviews/comments for everyone to share.

This bean makes a wonderful cup of coffee! After first crack, I roasted at a lower temperature well into second cracking. The coffee is amazing and the company delivers my orders very fast and reliably.

This is my favorite coffee so far from CBC. I roasted just into second crack in my Fresh Roast, then brewed it inverted in my AeroPress. I added a little water for an Americano and some light cream, and it is probably the best cup of coffee I have ever had. I came to CBC recently when my other sources were out of Sidamo - my all-time favorite.... well, it used to be. :)

I do not have a refined palate where I can pick up.chocolate, fruit or other things in my coffee but I do know what makes a great cup of coffee. This does it’s smooth and does not leave any aftertaste. I roast it to a medium roast

Bought a pound to try a couple different roast profiles. I roasted the first trial half pound to the first sounds of second crack before starting the cooling cycle on my Fresh Roast. After degassing for 3 days the flavors are wonderful. Spicy peppery undercurrents with hints of cinnamon for me. Love it. Will take the next roast a little further into second crack to see what develops.

I do not have the defined pallet to express the nuances of this blend but if you like Obeano Latte blend this is worth a try. I always get Obeano Latte and buy something along side to try, very few do I ever give a second chance but this one is my new go-to. I like it better than Obeano Latte which I normally buy in 10# bags. I roast well into second crack, I also roast this coffee slow (app 21 minutes start to finish) in a Kaldi Mini over a Coleman White Gas stove. My profile is not sophisticated, I tend to set it and make minor adjustments to prevent a stall or run-away - I just want a steady ROR. Needless to say, I dark roasted coffee that is strong on flavor, goes well with milk, and is forgiving of the roaster - this coffee fits that bill.

We were looking for a replacement for our favorite espresso Lavazza Pienamara. Keith at Coffee Bean Corral suggested this and hit a home run!!! This makes an excellent espresso! Roast until second crack. Keith & Catherine were great help and offered great suggestions and roasting tips. Great company to do business with!

My hopes were high and I wish I could offer a more positive review for this blend, but when roasting my first 1/2 lb in my Behmor yesterday I found that the beans went from first crack to burnt very, very quickly. They were coming along nicely at about 307 degrees and went from a few slow pops to a sudden, continual chorus of snaps for about 20-30 seconds. Smoke started pouring out of the roaster and I immediately removed the beans, which were now a deep, oily black. Next time, if I try this blend again, I'll go for a lower temp and pull them sooner. I'm concerned that will diminish the depth of flavor, though. Can anyone else share details and tips on roasting this blend? I'm no expert, but I've been roasting my own beans for 3 or 4 years now. Never had this happen before. Thanks for sharing your tips.
