Description

Uganda and Kenya share two things––a border and some of the world’s finest coffee. Up until recently, Ugandan beans were overlooked in favor of Ethiopian and Kenyan, as coffee-growing in Uganda was still in its infancy. But in the past decade, the country has started to shine, and coffee bean importers have noticed.

This bean is grown on Mount Elgon’s farms––about 1,650-2,200 meters in altitude. They’re traditionally washed and patio-dried to produce a decadent, earthy flavor. Certified by the famed Rainforest Alliance, this bean is lauded for its sustainable actions in favor of both people and nature––preserving irreplaceable flora and fauna, providing robust strategies for human rights and livelihood programs, and protecting the overall climate.

Cupping Notes: Dark and nutty aroma that transfers into the cup with a deep, earthy mouthfeel and a light body. Rich flavor with dark chocolate and nutty notes.

Roast these green coffee beans darker than you would a Kenyan, but not quite Full City. The complexity will be there, but the sugars won't really develop until later in the roast.

Try before you stock up with a 3lb or 5lb sample!!

Delightful Coffee! I roasted it to 30 seconds after the end of first crack. Rich, smooth, sweet and fruity up front, without the acidity. Wonderful cocoa at the end. Not a bitter bean in the lot. I can hardly wait 'til the morning to have another cup!

Roasted between first crack and second crack. Bright, citrus and very aromatic. A cross between Kenyan peaberry and Ethiopian Sidamo. Its great value for excellent coffee. Service from Coffee Bean Corral is excellent. The quality of the beans are excellent very bad beans.

Wow this coffee the perfect cross between Ethiopia Sidamo and Kenya Peaberry. Uganda coffee does not get the same billing as Kenyan or Ethiopian but its the just as good. Flavor profile is bright and sweet with notes of citrus.

This coffee was recommended by Paul McWhorter and I am so happy I went with the recommendation. It is one of the most tasty coffees I have ever consumed.

Roasted to Vienna about 450 degrees F, end of second crack. Brewed in Chemex. Hazelnuts, hazelnuts, and hazelnuts. And a little wine and cocoa. Delicious and sweet with good medium body. I’ll be coming back to this one.

For us, this has become our favorite coffee, better even than Kenyan and Ethiopian grades. Excellent whether roasted lighter or darker.

Roasted to beginning of second crack as suggested. Good coffee, but not my favorite so far. Great when blended with dark roasted Nicaraguan. I will be playing with this a bit more.

This is one of my favorites so far. The flavor profile is really good, and spot on to the description given by CBC. It's also one of my favorites to roast to Full city/ Dark. Also one of the favorites among my customers. We cant seem to have enough on hand, and definitely try to keep a good stock on hand

I have serious food sensitivities, and even the the variety of coffees that I have been able to enjoy has been limited. I have wanted a good African coffee with some complexity and brightness. This is all that, and it bothers me the least of all that I have tried so far. So I have drank it daily for the past several months. I love the aroma, the body and the finish. I am always reluctant to take a roast much past first crack, but this one tastes best when stopped about half way between first and second crack. It needs a couple of days rest to be its best.
